We have always loved Halloween, but until '95 we never really thought about
decorating for it. Having spent the last umpteen years following a religion that
disdained this observance,
we haven't had much exposure to its joys
 until taking
the kids around for the first trick or
treat of their young lives in '95. We
stumbled on a house on an adjoining block to ours that had been nicely decked
out, I realized; "Hey, maybe WE could
haunt our home too...."
So with extremely limited insight into how this was done, we finally determined
that newspaper worked as stuffing for a
 dummy, and we were on our way. The
neighbors loved it, and we
had such a good time I began planning '97's haunt
even before '96's was over with.
I am happy with the outcome of our first
efforts as the 6 yr olds weren't all able to take the candy from the severed
hand that doled it out. I am planning on much more for the 1997 season! |
